T95 Oil Casing

T95 Oil Casing is a widely used medium to high strength casing in API standards. "T95" represents a minimum yield strength of 95ksi (approximately 655MPa), and its performance is between N80 and Q125. With excellent comprehensive mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, it has become the mainstream choice for medium deep and medium pressure oil and gas wells.

Performance and Material

The T95 casing is made of low-alloy structural steel (such as 13Cr, 22Cr) and undergoes normalizing and tempering heat treatment (880 ℃ normalizing+620 ℃ tempering). The yield strength is 655-827MPa, the tensile strength is ≥ 758MPa, the elongation is ≥ 18%, and the toughness is better than N80 (impact energy ≥ 35J). Its sulfur resistance performance is outstanding. Through HIC and SSC testing, it can adapt to acidic formations with hydrogen sulfide concentration ≤ 1000ppm, with a temperature upper limit of 150 ℃, suitable for most conventional oil and gas well operating conditions.

Structure and specifications

For seamless steel pipe structures, API standard threads (STC, LTC, or BTC) are processed at the ends, and some models use special threads (such as Hydril CS) to enhance sealing, with an airtight sealing pressure of ≥ 40MPa. Common specifications: outer diameter 114.3mm-244.5mm, wall thickness 6.2mm-11.05mm, single length 6-12m, connected to a complete set of pipe columns through couplings, weight 10% -15% lighter than Q125.

Manufacturing and Application

The manufacturing process is mature, and the tube blank is hot-rolled, perforated, and then cold-rolled for precision finishing. The thread processing accuracy meets the API 5B standard. Widely used in mid to deep wells with a depth of 2000-4000 meters, such as:

Wall support for conventional onshore oil and gas wells;

Combination of casing strings in shallow water oil fields (used in conjunction with Q125 to reduce costs);

Strata containing slightly corrosive media (such as oil and gas reservoirs containing CO ₂).
