V150 Oil Casing

V150 Oil Casing is a high-strength petroleum specific casing, with "V150" representing its minimum yield strength of 150ksi (approximately 1034MPa). It is mainly used for wellbore support in ultra deep and high-pressure oil and gas wells, and is the core pipe material to ensure drilling safety and oil and gas extraction.

Performance and Material

The V150 casing is made of high alloy quenched and tempered steel, with typical materials such as 30CrMo and 42CrMo. Through quenching and tempering heat treatment, the yield strength of the steel reaches 1034-1241MPa, the tensile strength is ≥ 1172MPa, and the elongation is ≥ 14%. It can withstand the high confining pressure (≥ 100MPa) and high temperature (150-200 ℃) environment of ultra deep wells. It has excellent sulfur resistance and has been tested by HIC (hydrogen induced cracking) and SSC (sulfide stress corrosion), making it suitable for acidic oil and gas wells containing hydrogen sulfide.

Structure and specifications

The casing is a seamless steel pipe structure with special threads (such as API BTC, VAM TOP) machined at the ends. The thread accuracy meets the API 5B standard, and the tooth design ensures sealing performance (airtight sealing pressure ≥ 69MPa). The common specifications are an outer diameter of 139.7mm-339.7mm, a wall thickness of 7.72mm-14.27mm, a single length of 6-12m, and can be connected by couplings to form a wellbore casing string of several kilometers.

Manufacturing process

The tube blank is produced using hot rolling perforation+cold drawing/cold rolling process, and undergoes quenching and tempering heat treatment (850 ℃ quenching+550 ℃ tempering) to achieve a balance between high strength and toughness. The thread processing adopts a CNC lathe to ensure that the tooth profile parameter error is ≤ 0.02mm. After processing, the thread lubrication and wear resistance are enhanced by phosphating treatment.

Application scenarios

Mainly used for ultra deep wells with a depth of over 5000 meters, high-pressure gas wells (such as shale gas wells in the Sichuan Basin), and acidic oil and gas fields, with specific functions including:

Support the wellbore wall to prevent wellbore collapse;

Isolate fluids from different geological layers (such as oil and gas reservoirs and water layers);

To withstand formation pressure and wellbore fluid pressure, ensuring drilling and production safety.
