Socket Thread Tee
Socket Thread Tee is a pipe branch fitting that combines socket and thread structures. The main pipe is connected by socket, and the branch pipe is connected by thread, which combines sealing and disassembly flexibility. It is widely used in pipeline systems with small and medium-sized diameters, low to medium pressure, and requires frequent maintenance of branch pipes.
Structure and Manufacturing
The socket thread tee is in a "T" shape, with socket ports at both ends of the main pipe (with stepped circular holes, suitable for socket welding), and internal threads at the branch pipe ports (such as NPT and BSPT standards), with thread accuracy in accordance with ANSI B1.20.1 specifications. The inner diameter of the socket is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the main pipe (with a gap of 0.5-1mm), and the depth of the step ensures accurate positioning; The threaded part of the branch pipe is processed with a sealing cone surface, which is suitable for external threaded pipe fittings with taper. The materials are mostly carbon steel (A105) and stainless steel (316L), produced through forging process. After forging, internal stress is eliminated through heat treatment to ensure uniform strength in all parts.
Connection and Performance
The supervisor uses socket welding to fix it (with a sealing ring welded on the outside), and the branch pipe is connected by threads (wrapped with raw material tape or coated with sealant to enhance sealing). This combination structure can withstand pressures ranging from Class 150 to Class 600 (1.6-10MPa), working temperatures from -20 ℃ to 200 ℃, and is suitable for non corrosive media such as water, compressed air, and light oil.
Compared to pure socket welding tees, its advantages are: the branch pipe can be quickly disassembled (without cutting and welding), making it easy to replace instruments, valves, and other accessories, and improving maintenance efficiency by more than 50%; The socket welding structure of the supervisor is more stable and has better vibration resistance than full threaded connections.
