Forged Steel Tee
Forged Steel Tee is a T-shaped pipe branch fitting produced through forging technology. With its dense material and high strength, it has become the core component for pipeline diversion in high-pressure and high-risk pipeline systems, and is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, and power.
Manufacturing process and structure
Forged steel tees are made from high-quality steel billets, heated (carbon steel 1100-1200 ℃, stainless steel 1050-1150 ℃), and then formed into a "T" - shaped structure through forging or free forging. During the forging process, the metal grains are refined, eliminating defects such as porosity and looseness that may occur during casting. The material density is 20% -30% higher than that of cast tees.
Structurally, the main and branch pipe ports can be designed in socket weld, butt weld, or threaded forms to meet different connection requirements. The common specifications are DN6-DN200, and the diameters of the main and branch pipes can be the same (equal diameter tee) or different (reducing tee, such as DN100 × DN80), to meet diverse branch designs.
Performance advantages
High strength and pressure resistance: The tensile strength reaches 600-1000MPa, and the pressure resistance level covers Class 300 to Class 2500 (5-42MPa), far exceeding that of cast tees, and can withstand high pressure impact and frequent pressure fluctuations.
Uniform mechanical properties: The forging process ensures consistent strength in all parts, and there are no stress weak points at the connection between the branch pipe and the main pipe. It is not easy to crack within the temperature range of -50 ℃ to 450 ℃.
Wide material adaptability: Carbon steel (A105), stainless steel (316L), alloy steel pipe (Cr Mo), etc. can be used to adapt to various media such as water, steam, oil and gas, acid and alkali.
Applicable scenarios
The pressure station branch of the long-distance oil pipeline (A105 forged steel tee can withstand a pressure of 10MPa);
Hydrogen pipeline diversion of chemical hydrogenation unit (Cr Mo alloy three-way anti hydrogen corrosion);
Cooling water branch of nuclear power plant auxiliary system (316L stainless steel tee resistant to radiation corrosion).
